Day 2 Coles Bay 14 March 14

Up at 7am.Ben cooked breakfast for them anticipating  a long day.
Tried self raising flour and a pinch of baking soda in the waffle mix, over did it a bit squirted out all around the iron but made good waffles. Will try different mix next time!Stove had a ring of waffle around the burner. Pigeon toast with the required Bacon and smelly coffee.
Transported them all ashore to go off to the vineyard at 8.30.
Cleaned up and went over to Solquest for morning Coffee.Mathew had baked some nice little cookies with an almond on top for them at home.

Returned to Masterpiece to install the strap on the earth plate Andrew had made me,found the leak in the engine room which had been puzzling me for a couple of years,I thought it was the stern gland but turned out to be the filter bowl on the freezer pump.
Wasted half a roll of self amalgamating tape on it ,but it still leaked so put a piece of straight pipe in for the present.

The next job was to pull the gypsy off the anchor winch as the counter has stopped working, only put a new magnet in over winter. It looked ok so will have a fiddle with the counter tomorrow. May have to replace the magnet though.Boats always something.

Josh called up at lunch time ,having lunch ashore, could Ben take some bits and pieces in to them then pick up the farmers to change into canoeing gear for the afternoon shoot up the river.
Then take Masterpiece around to the bar way entrance so Ben could motor the dinghy up to the shellfish farm where the action could be filmed.
Anchored around near Goughs place and Ben negotiated the bar ok.
He returned about 5 and said they still had work to do.
We trolled back to the Coles Bay anchorage, caught nothing.
Josh called about 6.30 to say another 20 minutes ,then the sun set began, they are suckers for sunrises and sets.
It was dark when they got back. The ferryman put some Garlic stuff in the oven and got the crews back to the boats.
Dinner was green chicken curry requested by Josh.A couple of wines, they washed up and into bed about eleven.
Perk.
