Day 12 River Tamar. Thursday 28 March 14

Woke up to light rain at 3am.One is more acutely aware of you surroundings on a boat, turned over and went back to sleep.
The rain continued until well after lunch time so no option but to don my foul weather gear and get on with cleaning up out side. The dinghy was a bit of a mess and the cockpit worse,we had all the props needed for shooting on Flinders which are normally in the van.I unloaded all I could onto the marina along with the outboard fuel tanks and the large gas bottle now empty. We have never used so much gas before getting to the Tamar, must be a tribute to Bens catering.

Finished about midday,Ben doing the inside, checking the frozen supplies and cleaning out the fridge along with the bathrooms and vacuuming. All now shipshape.

Garth called, what about a bit of lunch and as Rod was away with his wife we piled into the BMW and drove through the rain to a nice little cafe on the shore along from the seahorse shed.
Had a bite and filled the fuel tanks and gas bottle up .Back to the boat ,still raining.
A bit later on Josh and Gilly showed up along with Ian,Josh's father keen to have a look at the boats.Josh made a cup of tea and we had a bit of a reunion. They seemed happy to be back.

Went up to the pub for dinner and had a good steak after a drink beside the wood fire in the lounge, all very pleasant .

So really not anything dramatic but still a busy morning.
Ron the bosun turned up about five to see if we were ok and asked if he could have a copy of the photo of Masterpiece on the wall as he collects pictures of boats and takes one of every visitor to the club,he has about three thousand.  I said he would have to wait till I got home as I do not have it on my IPad .
He told us about the  Lawrence Brown belonging to the Australian Maritime  College which acts as their breakwater.Next month they are going to move it and have someone with a machine which crawls along the side and hot water blasts it to remove the growth and paint so it can be repainted. They will take all the ballast water out to get down as far as possible.Could be some task. The program is for Ten days, someone else said more like five weeks, glad I am not quoting that job. They intend to paint the whole boat.
The vessel is an important training tool as it has other machinery installed in the holds along with the still operating main engine and generators.Ron said they don't always get it right when they reassemble the engines. As he lives up on the hill overlooking the club and vessel he sees heaps of black smoke coming out of the funnel!
Well Gary has just showed up with the Farmers ,must be ready for the next block in the morning.

For some of my not so perceptive readers .
Josh is the producer,Gilly the camera,Garry the sound. They are on Masterpiece along with Ben who does everything else, cooking, driving the dinghy and general running about along with fishing whenever possible.
Mathew,Nick and Ross are the main characters along with skipper Garth and Rod the mate on Solquest.
